Installation of Curtains & Blinds

We install curtains and blinds on room windows and in corridors of private and governmental buildings. All curtains and blinds have their own set of accessories, whose function is to help move them and control them. These accessories are sensitive and must be correctly assembled and installed to allow curtains and blinds to operate flawlessly. Curtains do not usually need regular sophisticated maintenance. However, we need to handle them correctly to avoid malfunctions due to misuse.

Conditions of Installation

  1. Finish all painting work
  2. Install the curtains and blinds before bringing in furniture

Types of Curtains & Blinds

Curtains and blinds have so many types. Below, are some of the important ones we deal with:

Roll Curtains

Roll curtains consist of:

      1. Curtain canvas
      2. Aluminum rail
      3. Chain
      4. Mounting brackets
      5. Opening and closing mechanism and accessories
      6. Counterweight

There are two types of roll curtains:

Roll Curtains, Sunscreen

The fabric consists of a layer of polyester fiber and a layer of PVC. This type of curtains provides insulation against heat and harmful sunlight while allowing light penetration by 5% to 10%. Due to its bearing capacity, we prefer to use this type for glass facades with heights of more than 3 m.

Roll Curtains, Blackout

The fabric consists of a fiberglass layer and a PVC layer. This type of curtains provides heat and full sunlight insulation (100% sunlight insulation). This type is best used in bedrooms, computer rooms, theaters, cinemas, and in places where we do not want light.

Wooden Blinds

Wooden blinds consist of:

      1. Slats of wood of 5 cm wide
      2. Aluminum rail
      3. Control string
      4. Opening string
      5. Mounting brackets
      6. Opening and closing mechanism and accessories

We make this type of blinds from natural wood, cut into 5 cm wide slats. Then we smooth and paint the slat surface with wood paint. Finally, we assemble the slats with threads and install the accessories necessary for the movement of the curtains. We use wooden blinds in offices and study rooms.

Vertical Blinds

Vertical blinds consist of:

      1. Aluminum rail
      2. Strips of fabric
      3. Chain
      4. Mounting brackets
      5. Opening and closing mechanism and accessories
      6. Counterweight

Initially, we make the vertical blinds of 11 cm wide strips of fabric. These strips come in different colors and patterns, and we connect them with accessories and strings. It is good to know that blind strips can move left and right, and they can also turn around. We use this type of blinds for windows and glass facades with a height not exceeding 3 m.

Venetian Blinds (Metal Blinds)

Venetian blinds, also known as metal blinds consist of:

      1. Aluminum slats
      2. Aluminum rail
      3. Control strings
      4. Opening and closing strings
      5. Mounting brackets
      6. Opening and closing mechanism and accessories

Venetian blinds consist of horizontal aluminum slats, grouped, using strings. The strings elevate and collect the slats together. They can control the movement of the slats to allow or prevent light and vision. Venetian blinds come in two different sizes that have similar components, characteristics, and use: Venetian blinds of 2.5 cm wide slats, and Venetian blinds of 5 cm wide slats. We use the Venetian blinds for windows and glass facades of heights not exceeding 3 m.

Hospital Curtains

KarZah, Advanced Materials, offers hospital curtains as a response to increasing patient privacy laws and regulations. The curtains allow the medical staff to move between neighboring patient beds from different angles freely and comfortably while maintaining patient privacy.

Hospital curtains have vertical aluminum rods of 15 mm diameter holding their rails and connecting them to the ceiling. The rods are flexible and have an adjustable length to fit ceiling height and the space allocated for the patients. Moreover, the rods have an anti-rust coating. On the other hand, the curtain rails to which curtains are connected come in plastic or stainless steel material. The rails are usually made of oxidation-resistant materials and have a self-lubricating system. Thanks to the self-lubricating system, curtains can move and slide freely and efficiently for many years.

Features of Hospital Curtains
          • Resistant to dirt, stains, and odors
          • Safe, as it is flame-resistant
          • Its quality and specifications are not affected by frequent cleaning and sterilization vehicles
          • Hygienic for hospital environment and sanitation, as it is resistant to germs and bacterial growth

Types of Hospital Curtain Fabric

Hospital curtain fabrics have two main types:

Fabric for Permanent Curtains

The threads of the fabric are dipped into anti-bacterial and germ growth-resistant materials before weaving them into the fabric. Thanks to that, the anti-bacterial materials remain in the fabric for the entire curtain lifetime despite repeated washing and use.

Fabric for Temporary Curtains

We spray the woven fabric with the anti-bacterial and germ growth-resistant materials before weaving them into the fabric. The effectiveness of the sprayed material decreases every time we wash the curtain. Therefore, we consider the fabric of this type of curtains temporary, not exceeding six months.

Zebra Curtains

Zebra curtains have another name, transitional curtains. They consist of two layers of fabric, with broad cross lines, one is transparent, and the other blocks the light. Due to its construction, zebra curtains reduce the amount of sunlight entering the space and create a zebra effect.

The zebra curtains consist of:

      1. Fabric
      2. Aluminum chain
      3. Chain
      4. Mounting brackets
      5. Opening and closing mechanism and accessories
      6. Counterweight

Bamboo Blinds

Bamboo curtains are made of natural bamboo sticks, connected with nylon strings. The curtain has a square-shaped mechanism, with control strings to control the opening and closing of the curtain. The second part consists of bamboo-shaped fire-resistant fiberglass slats. We attach a strip of wood to the lower end of the bamboo curtain. The strip of wood functions as a counterweight that keeps the curtain balanced when moving.

Bamboo curtains have a nice rustic look, and usually have beautiful embellishments and multiple shapes and colors. Additionally, they possess many characteristics, such as durability and resistance to moisture. Due to their construction, they allow proper ventilation. Good bamboo curtains do not need much maintenance and are easy to clean with water.

      2. Nylon strings
      3. Aluminum rail
      4. Chain
      5. Mounting brackets
      6. Opening and closing mechanism and accessories

Pleated Blinds (Plisse Blinds)

Pleated blinds are one of the very functional and smart-looking blinds. The blind is made of pleated reinforced fabric, stretched between two aluminum rails. The fold is usually 25 cm wide. Pleated curtains (Plisse Curtains) are safe, and therefore, they are considered a very suitable and preferable option for children’s rooms.

Japanese Blinds (Japanese Curtains)

Japanese blinds are a special kind of vertical blinds. These curtains consist of several smooth, rectangular pieces of fabric with a maximum width of one meter. Each rectangular piece has its own guide rail, allowing the part to move individually. Japanese blinds are similar to the vertical blinds, except that we can use linen, silk, cotton, or bamboo fabric. This type of curtains is easy to clean since the fabric is stretched on the rail.
